In the above clip (an oldie but goodie), a bird uses pieces of bread to lure small fish to the shore.
When given a choice, pigeons have been found to prefer high stakes betting to getting a modest sure thing. In a recent study, pigeons were allowed to push one of two buttons that each had a different consequence. Most of the birds quickly began ignoring the button that gave them three treats for every push (which over time would actually guarantee them the most food). Instead, they more often pushed the button leading to an outcome where 20% of the time they won a jackpot of 10 treats, but where 80% of the time they walked away with nothing.

Even considering that this parrot may have previously memorized the steps to solve this puzzle, the speed with which she completes it (faster than all her human competitors) is still quite impressive.
